Here's the video of UFC President Dana White announcing that we're going to see Chuck Liddell fight Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79:
White refers to Liddell-Silva as "the most anticipated fight in mixed martial arts history. The fight that I've been waiting for, the fans have been waiting for, finally it's going to happen."
I think the key word there is "finally." If the fight had happened a year and a half ago, that would have been great. But with both fighters on two-fight losing streaks, it's hard to be quite so excited.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Just because they are both coming off two fight losses, that means that people should not be as excited? You obviously have not been a MMA fan for long. You jump on the bandwagon when the UFC took off? Sounds like it. Liddel-Silva will be the biggest fight of the year, possibly the decade. My hat is off to Dana White and the entire UFC organization for making this fight FINALLY happen. I have waited years for this fight and with the departure of Randy now and the dream of a Randy-Fedor fight all but gone, Wanderlei-Chuck is exactly what the UFC needed. Congrats to all the real true MMA fans out there that have waited & waited & waited for this fight. I am psyched that this fight will happen in the octagon and not in the ring.

The guy that posted the long comment about not being a fan in the UFC for a long time. You just believe in the hype and what Dana White says. If you listen to all the interviews, he says that about all the fights you idiot. Who cares about whos been watching it for a long time and who hasn't. You don't run the show so just shut it. It's not the most anticipated fight in MMA history. Its a sacriface and Chucks the lamb. Wanderlei is going to walk all over Chuck. Chucks was talking about taking on Fedor after he beats Silva. Give me a break. Wanna see a anticipated fight? Spider Silva vs Fedor. Now that would be a fight!

These guys are coming off 2 losses each, so what? It may not be the perfect scenario but the match up has been a dream match up for years, and it's happening tomorrow. Anyone who has been paying attention to this sport longer than a couple of years should know this.
My prediction is a first round ko by Silva.
"Wanna see a anticipated fight? Spider Silva vs Fedor. Now that would be a fight!"
Whoever posted this must be right out of their minds. Fedor would possibly kill Silva, he's not only the toughest fighter on the planet right now, he naturally outweighs Spider Silva by almost 50 lbs!
Don't get me wrong, Spider Silva is one of the best and most exciting fighters on earth, but he is no match for Fedor. As a matter of fact, I think he's going to lose his next fight. Please remember me on March 1, 2008, Dan Henderson will beat Spider Silva on that day.
