The Iceman is back. At UFC 79, America's most popular mixed martial arts fighter, Chuck Liddell, beat the Brazilian Wanderlei Silva with a dominant unanimous decision.
For Liddell, it was an opportunity to get back on track after losing his last two fights. He badly hurt Silva, bloodied him, and beat him senseless. It's a credit to Silva that he wasn't knocked out, but it was clear that Liddell won the fight handily.
It's great news for UFC that it's biggest star is back on the winning side of the ledger.
Silva now has a three-fight losing streak.

Good job Chuck. Glad to see you're back on top. Can't wait to see you take Rampage Jackson down.

I am infuriated because Time Warner Cable's Pay-Per-View is all messed up so I wasn't able to view the program. I thought Silva would win though. I am proud of Liddell nonetheless. Hughes v. St. Pierre should be insane.

Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This will probably mean that the Iceman will fight the winner between Rampage and Forrest which I think sucks! Chuck should fight Rua or Jardine.
P.S.
Iceman earned 500000 and Silva 150000, Hughes 100000 and St P. 80000. Does anyone else think that is unfair... Iceman 350000 more, comeon I know Iceman is good and the most popular but damn he is is being overpayed, and oh yeah people talk about how UFC/MMA is beating boxing...HAHAHHAHA LOL. Mayweather earned Chuck Liddell's paycheck in one roumd or less. Thus, I take my words back about Iceman being overpayed. All of this guys are underpayed which is sad and could eventually backfire against Zuffa.

Chuck Liddell was STARTEGICALLY matched against a SAFE fighter. Who wants to see Liddell Rampage again?? Jackson has beaten him twice once by knockout and the other time by TAP OUT. COME ON fans and media you cant WILL a man to be great. Chuck is average and hes a drunk SLASH/ DRUG ADDICT, lets report his flaws as well as his accomplishments like you do everyone else.

Liddell matched against a safe fighter? B.S. You forget that Rampage has twice been beaten by Silva. You need to give credit where credit is due and Chuck Liddell earned it.

Question: Is Liddell a FADING fighter? Why is he the poster boy of the sport? Is he a drunk? Is he a drug addict?? Has he been competitive vs Rampage?? Rampage has KICKED HIS *SS TWICE but who gets more pub Rampage or Chuck??? Now answer the question WHY???

It is clear that Wanderley made things easier to Lidell. Wanderley landed Lidell twice as you all saw. He could have won the fight easily in my opinion. He is just playing the game of the UFC big sharks, so he can make more money in the future...

Why did Hughes verbally tapout instead of tapping w/ his hand. Does anyone know what he was saying to the ref. to stop it.

i respect all fighters. Lidell , Silva was a perfect example of poor sloppy out of shape boxing with some half ass kicks
These guys threw wide sloppy punches that looked more like a bar brawl than two of the worlds best.Lidell punched himself out and had to stop even though he had Silva hurt and it was only a 3 round fight. Pvlik vs Taylor was 100 times better fight and so was Mayweather vs Hatton. UFC can be entertaining but the skill level does not compare to BOXINGs best. NOT EVEN CLOSE

In response to johnny, boxing at its best, like the 2 fights u mentioned are too few and far between. Mayweather, I think, is talking about MMA.
