Video: MMA Live on UFC 86, Rampage Jackson vs. Forrest Griffin

Here's the latest installment of ESPN's MMA Live:

The focus of the show, of course, was UFC 86, and the UFC light heavyweight title fight between Quinton Rampage Jackson and Forrest Griffin. Former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir, who was a guest on the show, noted that the lack of animosity between Jackson and Griffin may have made UFC 86 a tougher pay-per-view to sell.

But as both Mir and Kenny Floridan noted, this fight doesn't need trash talk to make it a great one. Both Jackson and Griffin have aggressive approaches, and they'll put on a good show in the Octagon, even if they haven't put on a good show in the pre-fight trash talk.

One interesting note: They discuss Anderson Silva's upcoming light heavyweight fight with James Irvin and suggest that Jackson should be rooting for Silva, because a victory by Silva would make Silva a likely contender to take on Jackson in a big-money fight.

I'm not so sure I buy that. For starters, Silva plans to move down to defend his middleweight title at least one more time. And then I think he'd need at least one more light heavyweight win before he could challenge for the title. So I don't see Silva fighting Jackson any time soon.

And anyway, would Jackson-Silva really be all that lucrative? Jackson could make more money fighting Chuck Liddell a third time, and probably just as money against a handful of other light heavyweight contenders.
