In the run-up to Rampage Jackson's fight against Forrest Griffin at UFC 86, Jackson's trainer, Juanito Ibarra, expressed such confidence that he vowed to retire if Griffin won.Griffin won. Ibarra didn't retire.
But he hasn't stopped talking, and he's now promising to protest the judges' decision with the Nevada State Athletic Commission:
"We got robbed," Ibarra told Sherdog.com Sunday afternoon. "We won the majority of the fight."As I live blogged the fight, I believed that Jackson won, and I was surprised that the judges awarded the fight to Griffin. But to say that Jackson got robbed is ridiculous. It was a close fight, and the judges used their discretion. Rampage lost, and he and his camp need to accept it and move on.

Rampage has not really beaten anybody other than an over the hill Liddell. He lost to Silva twice and the guy that Griffin beat recently. He actually was TKO'd three times. Ouch!!!!! Maybe Rampage is a little overrated.

Right after I heard the judges decision on this fight my first thoughts were that rampage got robbed by the judges of the title. I hope rampage gets a quick title shot again soon because griffin is a great fighter but he did lose that fight and I am hardly the only one that thinks that. I would have no problem if I believed forrest did win.

No way, my score actually came to a tie.
1st 10-9 rampage
2nd 10-8 forest
3rd 10-9 rampage (or you could call this one a draw)
4th 10-9 rampage
5th 10-9 forest
bringing the total to 47 forest 47 rampage. Now with that said, Rampage did not dominate Forest the way Forest dominated Rampage. The second round was a huge factor, he had him mounted until the end of the round. The reason I did not give Rampage a 10-8 in the first is b/c Forest was winning until he got caught then he got back to his feet and it was pretty even after that. Also I believe Rampage took more damage because of those devastating leg kicks. To get a win after being mounted for a whole round you have to come back in dominating fashion, and Rampage didn't do that, granted he landed some awesome shots but could not capitalize on it. Very close fight but Forest takes it.

Is there a contract stipulation for a rematch between Rampage Jackson and Forrest Griffin? Rampage's trainer needs to quit crying over spilled milk. Judges call fights as they see them.

Ken Davis you must be new to the sport. Look up Rampage's record. Rampage fought in an organization called Pride located in Japan. You will see Rampage has fought some worthy adversaries. Griffin got KO'd by Jardine. So what? Rampage is one of the best. Griffin proved his mantle though. But to say Rampage isn't really that good, is shocking, and just shows your ignorance on MMA. Oh and by the way. Rampage beat Chuck twice. When he was considered to be the UFC's best.

I watched this fight 3 times now, and I have judged it the exact same way as far as the scoring goes.
I feel that the momentum of the fight was in Griffin's favor most of the time. One thing i could recall is how both announcers kept saying how it appeared Griffin was dominant, just because his work ethic.
To say that Griffin lost the fight because his face is more beat up is just rediculous... Griffin did tons of leg work and we didnt exactly stare at Rampage's legs now did we?
By the way, in kicks, it was 35-3 in favor of Griffin, and Rampages definetly was taking some serious punishment on his legs.
This fight could have gone either way... and it did, for Griffin.

Rampage was almost stopped with those leg kicks, there is a nerve that runs up your leg that the leg kick targets, take a few of those from someone who knows how to throw them and you can't walk anymore. And the reason it was 10-8 for forrest is rampage could not get out of the mount, if he had gotten himself up it would have been a different story but he was mounted until the end of the round, the referee had to get forest off of him. Not saying it wasn't a close fight but forrest is clearly the winner. Forrest was doing very well in the first round and got himself back to his feet after he got rocked. watching it again I think I have to give the 3rd to forrest. and what are you talking about forrest almost got knocked out twice? the first round was the only time he really got hurt
