Last month, when asked about the EliteXC main event of Kimbo Slice vs. Ken Shamrock, UFC President Dana White said this:"Ken is way past his prime. It gets to the point where it's dangerous for that guy to still be fighting. That being said, he still might beat Kimbo. Kimbo sucks."
Ladies and gentlemen, when the man has a point, the man has a point.
There's simply no two ways about it: Kimbo Slice sucks at the sport of mixed martial arts. Is he tougher than the average guy at the next barstool? Sure. That doesn't mean he's an elite athlete.
As it turned out, Kimbo didn't fight Shamrock. Instead, he fought a guy named Seth Petruzelli, a onetime Ultimate Fighter cast member who sent 0-2 in his brief UFC career. Petruzelli is 30 pounds lighter than Kimbo, and all it took was 14 seconds for Petruzelli to knock Kimbo out.
Kimbo seems like a nice guy and was a good sport about it after he lost. But make no mistake: He sucks at MMA.

I wouldn't be so quick to lump Lesnar in with Kimbo ... Lesnar is a decorated wrestler and one seriously powerful athlete. If Brock's conditioning holds up for a potential 5 rounds I think Randy is going to have his hands full!

Lesnar is an athlete and Kimbo is an actor. I am not giving Lesnar the belt as the Kimbo puppets did for him but I think he will be a much tougher opponet for anyone with his size and ability. Lets see if he has a chin. Getting hit in the face is not only a talent but you either have a chin or you don't.

Your not having a bad day when Elite XC has to pay you more to fight a Light-Heavyweight UFC washout with a year layoff. Seth was fighting scared and he backed himself into the cage when Kimbo approached him. If Kimbo had any real toughness he would have bounced back from a short right hand and wasted that guy.
It's to bad everyone asserts Kimbo has credibility when all his opponents were picked to lose. Seth is the only guy he fought with a winning record (out side the UFC he lost his UFC fights) and he couldn't last 14 seconds.
Lets all put Kimbo behind us now :)

Exactly he came from the streets, these guys he fights are professionals they have been trainning for years, he needs to get in to the gym and train, get a ground game know what to do when your on your back, learn how to recover after getting your bell rung. these guys he fights now are crack heads in someones back yard. this shows all the asrm chair mma fighters just cause ur big and throw a punch you still can get your ass kicked by somone smaller and knows a thing or two.

Yes he does need a ground game and more fights and no he shouldnt give up with Bas in his corner he could become a fighter if its not to late after all he is 34 and it takes years to get a good ground game he should not be a main event by no means, before he is getting so much attention he needs to prove himself. I was really hoping that Ken was going to take him down to the ground and rip one of his legs off. Opportunity sure did come knocking for Seth....someone who is barely a heavyweight...by less than 2 lbs! He capitalized on a situation, and made a name for himself.
Kimbo was, and probably still is, Elite XC's golden boy. Just look at the signs that everyone was holding up? I'm sure they got those for free. He's an imposing dangerous looking guy, and that's about it. Would I fight him, hell no....I'd get my head torn off...but he has no place with trained professionals.
As far as Lesnar is concerned, I think he is the real deal. His first opponent was Mir....and now Mir is on TUF8 and has a guaranteen title shot. That's not a hasbeen. His second opponent....Heath Herring...another well knows and respected heavy weight...and Lesnar destroyed him. His face looked like a lumpy ball of putty after the fight. His next fight? One of the all time greats. You cannot compare those two men at all!
