Kimbo Slice's second fight on CBS got the same ratings as his first. TV by the Numbers reports that EliteXC on CBS got 4.3 million viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults age 18 to 49 on Saturday night for Kimbo's return to the cage, in which he lost to Seth Petruzelli. That is exactly the same overnight viewership as Kimbo's May 31 fight.
That means CBS lost to both ABC (which showed college football) and Fox (which showed America's Most Wanted).
And that means it's too early to say whether CBS will consider Saturday night enough of a success to broadcast another EliteXC card. The numbers are a big improvement over the summer card headlined by Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith, but are they good enough to keep the promotion on network TV, now that EliteXC's most marketable star has been exposed?

EliteXC did a terrible marketing job here ... if they had spent as much time promoting the real fighters they have (such as Robbie Lawler) they wouldn't be in such a bad position.
EliteXC is destined to go down in flames.

Eric, You hit the nail right on the head!!!! I missed the last fight for the same reasons. I heard about it televised after it happened. I have tried to keep up with all the MMA fights. I was HOOKED the first fight I seen!! Boy has this sport evolved since then. The only way I knew about this one was I seen an interview with Kimbo in the middle of the week. Some morning show I think. He stated the network and the time the card was to start. Even then I had a hard time finding it. Great show

That martial arts fight Sat. night on CBS wasa big joke. Slice went down on a Phantom punch then the referee stopped after a series of flailing punches that didn`t connect. I think it was a setup. Looked like a FAKE!
