Actually, most canadians watched it live on Sportsnet. Its only on tape delay for Spike. It was a so-so event. I thought the best match was the Taylor-Lytle bout. Both main events went to a decision and the jardine-vera fight was a split decision that could have easily went the other way.
Either way, Im glad it was free for north americans. Cant wait for Silva-Cote next week.

Surprised that I somehow missed the fact that this was on Spike. I assumed it was also a PPV.

The event was so - so ...
Marcus Davis was the only fighter that impressed me on the main card. His boxing looked spectacular, and his submission game is ever evolving. He is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC. Too bad he is already 35.
Bisping is a good fighter but nothing more ... he wouldn't make my top 10 at 185 in the UFC.
The big disappointment of the night was Brandon Vera in my opinion. He reminds me of David "the crow" Loiseau ... a very talented fighter with great success early in his UFC career, but after a loss or two he doubts himself and just can't pull the trigger anymore.

That's a very good comparison between Loiseau and Vera...I agree. For some reason, they both have just stopped doing, what they do best. Loiseau stopped throwing nasty elbows even when opportunity presented and Brandon stopped picking people apart with Thai Boxing. Very strange!

UFC 89 was boring. Great fighters and no excitement. Looks like the age of point fighting has evolved.
Bisping has yet to show that hes a great fighter.
