Junior "Cigano" dos Santos, a little-known Brazilian making his UFC debut, has just upended the UFC's heavyweight division with a stunning knockout of Fabricio Werdum at UFC 90.Cigano delivered a brutal right uppercut to the chin of Werdum, then finished him off with a left to the head and four quick strikes on the ground. The fight was over just 1:28 into the first round.
Werdum is considered one of the top heavyweights in the sport -- or at least he was until tonight, when he came in looking flabby and out of shape, while Cigano looked chiseled. Werdum had said the UFC owes him a title shot, but it was Cigano who looked like a champion tonight.
Cigano improves to 7-1 in his MMA career. Werdum falls to 11-4-1.

No, he wasn't thrown to the wolves. Why is no one else noticing how terrible Werdum looked? Joe Rogan made excuses that Werdum was trying to bulk up, but you don't gain 20+ pounds in a couple of months intentionally ... Werdum was obviously injured or distracted from his training!
Werdum isn't a popular fighter, but he is the real deal ... he just didn't show up to fight!

yeah sure, just like "Maynard's one-dimensionality will show"
The only one dimensionality i saw was werdums lack of standup and really now- who leans into a punch that bad?Someone with zero standup training.
He might have been injured or didnt train or was distracted but that doesnt excuse him from being dumb.

I didn't get the winner right, but Maynard definitely showed that he was one-dimensional. What did he do other than lay-and-pray while boring me and the millions watching?
