Dana White Would Consider Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg WEC Fight

UFC President Dana White is softening his stance on women's MMA.

White has long said he has no interest in promoting women's fights, but in an interview with ESPN's Jon Anik on MMA Live, he wouldn't rule out promoting what could be the biggest fight in the history of women's MMA. Asked about the potential superfight between Gina Carano and Cris Cyborg, White said he could see doing it in the UFC's sister promotion, the WEC.

"I wouldn't be opposed to it," White said of promoting Carano vs. Cyborg. "And if I did do it, I'd probably do it in the WEC."

It's refreshing to hear White open his mind about women's MMA. It's also surprising, considering I just asked White two weeks ago if there was any chance women could fight in the WEC, and he said, categorically, that it wouldn't happen. But Carano vs. Cyborg is a fight that should happen, and if it happens in the WEC, that would be great for all involved.
