UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture tipped the scales at 220 pounds for his fight tonight with Brock Lesnar, meaning he'll likely be giving up around 55 pounds to Lesnar when they walk into the Octagon tonight at UFC 91. UFC President Dana White says he's surprised:
"I was surprised that Couture came in at 220," White said. "I thought he was going to be more 225, in between 225 and 230. Interesting. Maybe he's thinking about staying light on his feet, and making Brock work and move around. Brock Lesnar told me a couple weeks ago he got down to 265, stayed there for a few days and felt absolutely comfortable."
After the jump, White talks about the overall state of the UFC.
"We continue to deliver," White said. "We've got this fight here on Saturday, then our December 27 card is stacked, we've got B.J. Penn and Georges St. Pierre fighting again in January, we've got Henderson and Franklin fighting, it's just one after another after another."

After the CBS mess of Kimbo Slice, ESPN is finally starting to get interested in MMA.
In the history of MMA, tonight's UFC 91 is the turning point in the evolution completely surpassing boxing.
The interest in a an ex-WWE performer with only 3 MMA bouts versus the 46 year old "Natural" is surprising, however it reflects how far fighting has come in surpassing boxing in the public eye.
I hope Randy grounds and pounds the bigger, stronger, but less skilled Lesnar tonight.

Lesnar is carrying around alot of, ahem, unnatural muscle weight. The key to this fight, imo, is whether or not Couture can weather the initial rage of Lesnar. If yes, Lesnar will gas out and Couture will submit him. If not, 1 or 2 round beatdown by Lesnar.

Wow, 220 instead of 225? Five whole pounds? That is not even worth mentioning in the heavyweight division--White's just being a promoter.
