UFC 91 Live Blog: Florian, Stevenson, Maia, Quarry, Gonzaga, Hendricks, More Undercard

Welcome to the FanHouse UFC 91 live blog, where we'll provide live, round-by-round updates of the four big undercard fights on tonight's card: Kenny Florian vs. Joe Stevenson, Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Josh Hendricks, Demian Maia vs. Nate Quarry and Dustin Hazelett vs. Tamdan McCrory.

Demian Maia vs. Nate Quarry
Maia has entered the Octagon. He's cornered by Wanderlei Silva.
Quarry has entered the Octagon. He's wearing a shirt dedicated to the doctor who did his back surgery.
Round 1: This fight is underway. Maia takes it to the ground but Quarry gets into a fairly good position on top. Now they briefly stand up and then go back to the ground, and Maia has the edge. Maia has Quarry in mount. Maia has Quarry's back. This is bad news for Quarry. Maia is in a good position to go for a rear-naked choke here. Quarry is having a lot of trouble. And it's over! Demian Maia defeats Nate Quarry by first-round submission (rear-naked choke).

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Josh Hendricks
Hendricks is making his way to the Octagon. Hendricks has a pretty bad cauliflower ear. I hope we don't see Kimbo Slice-James Thompson redux.
Gonzaga is making his way to the Octagon. Both men are now in the Octagon.

Round 1: This fight is underway. Hendricks goes to the inside quickly, as you'd expect from a wrestler. Gonzaga hits him with a right hand. Nice punch to the ribs from Gonzaga. Big right hand from Gonzaga! Hendricks goes down! One more strike on the ground and it's over! Gabriel Gonzaga defeats Josh Hendricks by first-round TKO (strikes).


Dustin Hazelett vs. Tamdan McCrory
Hazelett and McCrory are up next.
McCrory has entered the Octagon.
Hazelett is entering the Octagon to "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival, and sporting a beard.
Round 1: This fight is underway. Great combination from McCrory. Hazelett landed a kick but then missed a flying knee. Good leg kick from Hazelett. McCrory has long legs and is trying to use them with kicks to the body, but so far Hazelett is doing a pretty good job of avoiding them. Hazelett charges with a punch, McCrory was briefly hurt but recovered, and then landed a good leg kick to Hazelett. McCrory caught Hazelett's kick, and now they're on the ground. Hazelett tried some rubber guard but now McCrory is in trouble. Hazelett is in good shape, in an advantageous position on the ground. It's over! Dustin Hazelett beats Tamdan McCrory by first-round submission (arm bar).

Kenny Florian vs. Joe Stevenson:
Stevenson is on his way to the Octagon. Stevenson is in the Octagon.
Florian is on his way to the Octagon. Florian is in the Octagon.

Round 1: This fight is underway. Florian starts with a leg kick and then backs off. Nice right hand to the jaw from Florian, who continues to move well. Florian with a Muay Thai style knee. Stevenson backs Florian up and now they're against the fence, and Stevenson is in a better position. A flash takedown and then they're right back on their feet. Stevenson takes Florian down, Florian grabs the fence, and ref Herb Dean warns Florian not to do that. Nice right hand from Florian. Good kick from Florian. Nice takedown from Florian, and now he's working his jiu jitsu. Nice right hand comes down on Stevenson. Florian has Stevenson in the mount. And they turn over. Florian sinks in the rear-naked. It's over! Kenny Florian defeats Joe Stevenson by first-round submission (rear-naked choke).
