Two weeks after losing his UFC heavyweight title to Brock Lesnar, Randy Couture is looking to his future. And even though Couture is 45 years old, he thinks that future will consist of some big fights, including a rematch with Lesnar and, he hopes, a fight with Fedor Emelianenko. "A rematch would be fun," Couture said of fighting Lesnar again, in an interview on Inside MMA. "I feel like I have what it takes to win that fight. You hate to see those slip away, but some times that happens. A rematch would be cool, and obviously the Fedor fight, if there's any way that could happen in the future. Maybe that's changed after losing to Lesnar. Who knows?"
A Lesnar rematch is certainly if Couture notches an impressive win in his next fight and Lesnar beats Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira or Frank Mir to unify the UFC heavyweight title. But after watching Lesnar beat up the 45-year-old Couture, it's hard to picture a 46-year-old Couture beating Lesnar.
And it's even harder to picture Couture beating Fedor. As big a fight as Couture vs. Fedor once would have been, we're all better off the sooner we acknowledge that that's just not a fight we're going to see.
I believe that Couture has at least a couple more big UFC fights left in him, and I'd love to see his hand raised in the Octagon one more time. But that's not going to happen with Lesnar or Fedor as an opponent.

So many of these guys don't know when to call it quits. He was way underpowered with Lesnar and that is not about to change ever.
Get on with life outside of being pummeled. You were great and go off with that memory firmly implanted.

I actually think the rematch would do better in PPV as folks want to see Couture beat Lesnar. And if he does, we are going to see a trilogy, and you can bet Dana would be pulling for Randy to win a fight against Lesnar so they could have the third fight. It's a win win really. If Lesnar destroys Couture again, he will be the guy who beat the legend 2 times. If he loses, we will see another big fight. Fedor? He is irrelevant at this point. There is always the Japanese Giant he can fight...

budo,
Randy wasn't overpowered, bro. He controlled Big Brock against the fence, defended the take down in the middle of the octagon and got up TWICE when the mountain of a man that is Brock had his whole 275lb body on him. Plus, Randy came close to taking Brock down and "might" have if Brock didn't grab the fence, twice. Now, I gave Brock the first round but it was close. The second round was going Randy's way until he he got dropped. Randy's been dropped before by much smaller men and we didn't accuse him of being overpowered by Chuck. Hey, Randy lose fair and square, no excuses here, but he was not overpowered and he didn't look old and washed up at all. If Randy were to lose his next fight and Brock win his there will be no rematch. However I think Brock beating either Mir or Nog is a big IF, so we'll see.

Brock is getting better, and Randy is getting older.
It's not like Brock only land the one big punch ... he landed a few. It was only a matter of time before Randy got knocked out. Even if that shot had missed, another would have come seconds or minutes later.
Randy is never going to get a Fedor fight, especially now. I wish he would retire and continue acting and commentating.

No doubt Lesnar won the fight with Randy, but in a rematch I see Randy winning, he got caught with a big shot and these things happen, but if anyone has the ability to adjust and overcome its Randy, anyways if Randy doesnt get Lesnar his next opponet will be Nog and Nog will tie Lesnar into little Knots, Lesnar is powerful but still has huge holes in his game the only real thing he has going is his sheer size and strength, that will carry u some of the the time, and to be realistic if he wouldnt of tagged Randy and that fight went another round of 2 he was in a ton of trouble, breathing heavy and tiring fast, no doubt Randy beats this guy easy next time
