Tim Sylvia vs. Ken Shamrock? Seriously?

Text Size A A A
This has to be the worst idea I've ever heard. Sherdog quotes Tim Sylvia saying he might fight Ken Shamrock:
"I was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock December 20, but it's been postponed to February now. He's a free agent. I was supposed to fight him in a small show called XP3 Promotions. I believe in Texas, but it's postponed to February now."
Seriously? Tim Sylvia vs. Ken Shamrock? Does anyone think Ken Shamrock has any hope of beating Tim Sylvia? Sure, Sylvia got destroyed by Fedor Emelianenko, but I know Fedor and, Shamrock, you're no Fedor.

Shamrock will turn 45 in February and has lost five straight fights, all by first-round KO or TKO. He was an underdog against Kimbo Slice, for crying out loud. He also weighs about 50 pounds less than Sylvia. There's no way in the world any athletic commission should ever approve Shamrock vs. Sylvia.

Fortunately, Shamrock's manager, Ron Donohoo, told Sherdog that a fight with Sylvia isn't going to happen. So I guess it's just wishful thinking on the part of Sylvia.

And what is next for Sylvia? It sounds like he's going to fight in one of the upcoming cards in Japan, either the New Year's Eve Dynamite show or the January 4 World Victory Road Sengoku show. If it's the Dynamite card, that would be a great coup for HDNet, which owns the American broadcast rights. Dynamite is shaping up to be a hell of a show.
