In the above video, Joe Rogan refers to the UFC 94 main event of B.J. Penn vs. Georges St. Pierre as "a mixed martial arts fan's dream come true."
Unlike TV commentators in other sports, the UFC's announcers are employees of the UFC, so Rogan isn't quite an objective analyst. But I'd have to say I agree: This is just about as good as it gets for MMA fans.
Aside from Rogan's opening, the most interesting comment in the video comes from St. Pierre, who says, "I think I'm a better overall fighter than B.J. Penn. I think I'm more skilled."
That echoes what St. Pierre said before his last fight, against Jon Fitch. But while I thought St. Pierre was right about Fitch, I think he's wrong about Penn: Penn is really the more skilled mixed martial artist of the two, with his unique combination of excellent striking and world-class Brazilian jiu jitsu.
And yet I'm picking St. Pierre in this fight because I expect him to take advantage of his superior size, athleticism and conditioning. No matter who wins, though, Rogan is right that this fight is a dream come true.

Anyone have a pick on this fight? I'm thinking GSP will overpower Penn...BJ is just too small at welterweight. I predict a third-round TKO. This guy's analysis is pretty good: http://www.betonline.com/betting-edge/UFC-94-odds-719.aspx

both guys are great fighters , i don't think bj is taking this fight as serious as he should. gsp has not lost in a rematch fight and this is a rematch . i pick gsp, i feel he will over power bj and dominate the fight on the ground. bj will gas and gsp will win by tko in the 4th.

BJ will finish him in the first 3 rounds. BJ's boxing is just too good. We saw what he did to GSP's face in the first fight and BJ has only gotten better since.
Unless GSP can take BJ down for the entire 5 rounds, I don't see him winning the fight.

BJ has the boxing, chin, confidence, and heart advantage in my opinion. I'm counting on that prevailing over GSP's conditioning and wrestling.

BJ's stamina has always been a question mark. If anyone saw the Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone fight then you now what kinda of stamina GSP is going to bring. Bj best wish for it to end quick or its going to be a long night.
