UFC President Dana White is fond of saying that within a decade, mixed martial arts will be the most popular sport in the world. Above is a news report from India that shows some promising signs that MMA is catching on in the world's second most populous country.
The report, from the Indian news network IBN, seems to assume that viewers have never heard of MMA, so it's not like the sport has really taken off in India yet. But it also treats MMA with more respect than it usually gets in the mainstream media in the United States, and it even suggests that aside from cricket, MMA may be the sport that gives an Indian athlete the best chance of becoming a professional.
Nice Report m8 but I think that their coverage on star sports was a far better promotion for mma in India than this one by IBN www.youtube.com/tigersgym has that telecast
Your right , mma in India hasnt actually become very popular , nothing in India is more popular in India than Cricket and Bollywood ... but then maybe on the otherhand we would need someone from the mma world who has a passion for mma to be spread to India to join hands with the local mma community there and actually make it big.
