It didn't start out boring, as Bader had a great takedown just moments after the start of the fight and completely dominated the first round. But while Bader was active and impressive through the first five minutes, the rest of the fight consisted of him mostly lying on top of Marrero and doing little damage. Bader continued to land takedowns and control the fight, but he wasn't able to come close to finishing, as Marrero simply defended himself and refused to give Bader any openings. Bader won 30-27 on all three judges' cards.
Bader described his showing as "so-so," and "not up to my potential." That sounds about right. A win is a win, and Bader is now 9-0 in his MMA career. But he wasn't quite as impressive as the UFC must have hoped its Ultimate Fighter winner would be.

I am getting sick of the biased commentary by Goldie and Rogan. they made it seem like Bader was monster that beat his oppoenet relentless and is so dominating.
this has been a trned lately and IO am sick of it. I know it is their job....But this was far worst than Rashad's clear bias towards Jardine in his last fight.
Just widh they wouldnt OVER do it!!!

That was unbelievably boring after the first few minutes. He might be able to get wins with fights like that, but he probably won't keep getting on the main fight card if he lays on people for 15 minutes.

Bader's stand-up is total crap. It was a wrestling match ... and a boring wrestling match at that!

The true MMA fan understands that a fighter can get a lucky punch in, but you really never get lucky on the ground; you either have ground skills or you don't. For those that don't understand what it takes to dominate someone on the ground, they should watch K1 or some such suitable avenue for their understanding of the game. It's the fans that are boring, not the fighters. If I ran things, any fan that booed would be the next one in the cage/ring.
