After a weekend in mixed martial arts that saw big lightweight fights in both the UFC and Dream, it's time to revise our list of the Top 10 lightweights in MMA. Frank Edgar is new on our list after his impressive UFC 98 win over Sean Sherk, while Gesias "JZ Calvan" Cavalcante has dropped off the list after a disappointing loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri at Dream 9. The full Top 10 is below.

3. Shinya Aoki

nice list Alvarez might be too high he strugled in round 1 of bellator and to me he is not facing top competition like UFC guys. I think I would have Maynard edgar shanchez and maybe sherk over Alvarez not sure will look at my own list

This is what I came up with
BJ Penn-UFC-13-5-1
Shinya Aoki-DREAM-20-4
Kenny Florian-UFC-11-3
Diego Sanchez-UFC-20-2
Frankie Edgar-UFC-10-1
Sean Sherk-UFC-36-4
Gray Maynard-UFC-7-0
Eddie Alvarez-Bellator-15-2
Joachim Hansen-DREAM-19-7
Josh Thomson-STRIKEF-16-2
couple remarks
UFC LW division has gainned pedigree in recent weeks I find. The only non UFC guy I rank high is Aoki. I still believe in him lol
I brought Hasen down a tone because he has not fought in almost a year and I would say in that year the UFC LW division as gainned alot of cred
I am not sure where Alvarez should rank. I got him in 7 place. He strugled in round 1 of bellator and is not facing top competition like other UFC guys are

This is pretty dumb. It is obvious that Kawijiri and JZ Calvan are still top 10 LWs. Who has Diego or Mayhard beat to be a top 10 LW?

What the hell are you all thinking to not include TYSON GRIFFIN he is 13-2 (UFC 6-2) and has lost to only Sean Sherk and Frankie Edgar by decision. They were very close I think Tyson won both of those fights but it up to the judges. TYSON GRIFFIN future LW champ.
