With Mirko Cro Cop In, Six Live Fights Likely on UFC 99 Pay-Per-View

The UFC officially announced Monday what Dana White previously confirmed: The June 13 UFC 99 card will include the return of Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. But while that's great news for MMA fans, it's not the best news of the day.

No, the best news of the day is that the UFC is planning to show six live fights -- instead of the usual five -- on the pay-per-view broadcast for UFC 99. The UFC public relations department confirmed to FanHouse today that the plan is to add the Cro Cop vs. Mostapha Al Turk fight to the pay-per-view show without taking any of the five fights that were previously scheduled to be televised off the broadcast.

That means that if you're planning to buy UFC 99, you can plan to watch these fights live:

Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva
Cheick Kongo vs. Cain Velasquez
Ben Saunders vs. Mike Swick
Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy
Spencer Fisher vs. Caol Uno
Mostapha al Turk vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic

That's an outstanding fight card, and assuming it all goes off as planned (the UFC is always quick to point out that the fight card is subject to change), it's well worth your $50 -- something you can't aways say about the UFC's European cards.

Overall, the fact that six fights on the upcoming card are worthy of the pay-per-view broadcast shows what a deep, talented roster of fighters theUFC has. I hope to see more six-fight cards in the future.
