When Donald Trump first announced that he was getting involved with Affliction's new MMA promotion last June, a lot of hardcore MMA fans reacted negatively. Trump would bastardize the newborn organization, they said. But one can't deny that "The Donald" has helped bring some much-needed media attention to the fledgling promotion.Case in point: last week's "Affliction: Trilogy" press conference in New York City, which was held in the atrium of the Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan, brought out the likes of CNBC, the New York Post and the nationally-syndicated show, Extra.
FanHouse briefly caught up with Trump to talk about his involvement in MMA and who he thinks will win the Fedor Emelianenko vs. Josh Barnett fight on August 1. The full video interview is below.

i watch mma.. is fun to watch... but all this talk about mma takeing over boxing is bull crap.. never going to happen.. nnnneeevvveeerr..pro boxers make millions for 1 fight. all that kicking and elbows knee strikes is basicly controlled street fighting. anyone can be an mma fighter. if your strong you can win fights in mma.. now boxing not anyone can be a successfull boxer... you can take the weakest guy off the street teach him to box and he could win more than 50% of his fights. mma is exciting to watch. its likethe wwf butt with real blood...lol mma will never replace or take over boxing. ive been watching mma for about a year and i can honestly say i like it.. i dont love it and i would never pay payper view to see it. i like most americans feel if there was an important boxing match on at the same time as an important mma match,,,, i would watch the boxing match... not dissing mma but most poeple feel this way..
