After beating Urijah Faber at WEC 41 on Sunday, World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight champion Mike Brown is expected to defend his title against Jose Aldo some time in the fall. But considering that it only took Aldo eight seconds to beat Cub Swanson, Brown didn't gain much insight from the fight.
"I saw the fight, hard to scout a guy who's beating guys that quickly," Brown told Loretta Hunt of Sherdog. "Train hard, try to win. I do my same game plan. I swing hard and try to be on top. Keep it basic."
Brown is one of the best fighters in the world at keeping it basic: He's the strongest 145-pound fighter in MMA, and he doesn't need to do anything flashy. He just uses his big right hand and his great grappling to beat his opponents. Aldo, however, will provide a unique challenge to Brown, and their fight should be a great one.
