UFC 99 Video: Marcus Davis vs. Dan Hardy a Fight Fueled by Hate

The run-up to the UFC 99 fight between Marcus Davis and Dan Hardy has focused mostly on the fighters' personal animosity for each other, and the above video pretty well shows that animosity on display.

"I hate Dan Hardy," Davis says. "I spend a lot of every day thinking about how much I don't like Dan Hardy."

I'm still not totally sure how this whole war of words between Davis and Hardy started, although Davis clearly thinks it started with Hardy encouraging his fans to bash Davis at every opportunity. Whatever is behind it, the fight certainly has a lot of heat and seems to be the fight that the UFC is putting the most promotional muscle behind, other than the main event of Wanderlei Silva vs. Rich Franklin.

As for the fight itself, I think it'll come down to who has the better stand-up striking, and it's interesting to see in the video that Hardy has been working on his boxing with Freddie Roach. Roach is the best trainer in boxing, but his record with MMA fighters has been mixed. We'll see how Hardy's boxing looks on Saturday.
