Georges St. Pierre: Thiago Alves Would Whip B.J. Penn

The rivalry between Georges St Pierre and BJ Penn is over in the sense that they're not going to step into the Octagon together again, but it's far from over in the sense that they're not going to stop talking about each other any time soon.

Penn has repeatedly called St. Pierre a cheater, and St. Pierre, in a call to promote UFC 100, took a swipe at Penn in discussing his upcoming opponent, Thiago Alves.

"If you put Thiago Alves and BJ Penn in a fight, I would bet all my money on Thiago Alves. No doubt about it," St. Pierre said, before adding, "Thiago Alves is a gentleman. He's not somebody who would trash talk to promote himself. He's a very respectful guy."

On the same call, Alves showed that he is, indeed, a respectful guy, saying of St. Pierre, "I have a lot of respect for the champion and I'm ready 100 percent for whatever he throws at me."

St. Pierre also said he's been expecting to face Alves since Alves made his UFC debut, and that he expects Alves to give him a more difficult fight than Penn -- or anyone else he's ever faced in the Octagon.

"When I first saw him fight I knew he was a potential opponent," St. Pierre said. "I truly believe he is the biggest challenge I have faced so far."

Well we know that GSO did in fact cheat. Say what you will about Penn but it's documented fact that GSP cheated at this point. Even Dana White admits it's a controversial win. If I were Penn I would be saying the same thing. How can you do a triangle choke or use the rubber guard when your opponent is all oiled up from head to toe?

As for GSP talking about Penn vs Alves ... He needs to forget about Penn (unless it's in his head b/c he knows he cheated ... possible) and just focus on beating Alves. Every second he spends thinking, concentrating or getting angry about Penn is a second he isn't preparing for Alves. Honestly, I'm expecting Thiago Alves to beat GSP. It's Miguel Cotto all over again ... Once his secret weapon of illegal grease is gone he looses his confidence. Thiago will submit him off his back.

Remember ... Penn wasn't the first person to complain about GSPs cheating. Serra and Hughes both said that GSP greased and thats how BJ Penn knew to watch for it. UFC wants to sweep this under the rug but it isn't going away any time soon especially with GSP fueling the fires.

Penn was never in position to pull a submission. Penn was taken down into 1/2 guard or side control all except once or twice. Penns a cry baby that got his az kicked. A little spot of vasoline on the right shoulder blade didn't change the outcome of that fight. Penn got beat because GSP didnt head hunt. Penns skull is extra thick, thats his big advantage over other fighters, and where they made the mistake of fighting him; you're not going to knock Penn out with a single head shot unless its a heck of a shot.
The NAC didnt think GSP cheated, and they regulated the fight.
Penn wouldn't come out for the last round, and quit in his corner. He had his brother stop the fight because he wouldnt look up and say yea i want GSP for another round. Penn ought to man up and admit the Canadian in speedos kicked his az.

This is just el-oh-el. Penn's lost to St. Pierre twice and is still talking trash. He's a dominate Lightweight, but needs to stay there. He's no pound-for-pounder like an Anderson Silva.

Penns buddies in the Hui would pick you out on the beach to beat up, and once they realized how stupid you were they'd pound you every time they got a chance. you'd be "taxed" regularly like the little whinney bich ur.
Got news for ya pal, grew up in Hawaii, know all about these guys. you'd be the typical stupid haole trying to fit in, and you never would.

This greasegate bs has gone overboard, and I agree Penn was never in a position to come close to submitting GSP. The assumption here must be if you get your legs high on an opponent a submission is 100% guaranteed. Posturing up isn't even an option I guess, the submission should have come because he got his legs up once, ok. If that's not the case this argument needs to die the death it deserves.

GSP is not a cheater and he'll ko Alves, then what are people going to say?

GSP is one of the best fighters on earth and he's done nothing but prove it every time he enters the octagon.

Bj Penn never whined or complained when GSP beat him the first time you monkey.
He fought for what he believed in because GSP is on video with vaseline being applied on his chest and back for 2 rds. How much more obvious could it be that it was an ilegal application of a substance meant to go on your face.

first off azwipe, if you ever spent enough time on the mat you'd know if you were going to lube you'd do it well before the fight so it bled out with your sweat, but you don't have the mat time to know that, dumbaz. the nevada athletic commission didnt think GSP cheated, so how did a schit for brains like you become the authority. i guess when ur az is on ur shoulders that what you talk out of. Penn got his az beat and quit like the loser he is, thats the facts.
