The Ultimate Fighting Championship has a 265-pound limit for its heavyweight division, but that weight limit usually doesn't matter because most fighters weigh well under 265 pounds. For UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, however, it's a little bit different.
Lesnar, the enormous former WWE star, has to get into the sauna to sweat off a few pounds on weigh-in day to get down to 265. But he told me today that he won't have any trouble making the 265-pound limit when he fights Frank Mir at UFC 100, and that his current weight of 275 is just right for the heavyweight class.
"It's not difficult for me," Lesnar said on a call to promote UFC 100. "This camp, I've made weight three or four different times during the camp. I've been watching it, eating really well, and it's not a huge task for me to make 265. I do have to put some thought into it, and a little extra effort, but it's not difficult."
Lesnar will probably be about 20 pounds heavier than Mir when they step into the Octagon on July 11, but he added that he doesn't think size and strength are going to be the determining factors in the fight.
"It just so happens that the weight limit is 265 and that's exactly what I weigh the night before," Lesnar said. "Come fight night, whether it's him or me, somebody's got to be better that night, and that's what we'll have to wait and see for."

When you are as accomplished a jujitsu fighter as is Mir, 20 pounds doe not mean squat.....as Mir proved in their first fight.

Lesnar's college wrestling days have probably made cutting this weight very easy. Mir is looking to be in great shape as well...so there won't be any excuses come UFC 100.

Please have Herb Dean referee this fight! We need a ref capable of letting the fighters fight it out please, so there will be no excuses in the end.

McCarthy won't ever referee in the UFC again. Dana White is vindictive like that. He did an interview on HD Net recently where he stated as much about WHite and the UFC.

Mir has been coming to some of the amateur events and he looks to be in good shape. Mir's coming to fight. As much as i like Mir, i'm going with Lesnar.
So since the ufc doesnt have a real challenger for the winner of this fight, will the ufc man up and do a cross promotion for the winner to fight Fedor?

lol ... yeah I'm sure the UFC would love for Fedor to come in and destroy the winner of this fight only to go back to fighting in japan/affliction. There is a verbal confirmation that Carwin will fight Velazquez at UFC 104 and I would presume the winner of that fight gets Mir/Lestard winner. I would like to see Dos Santos get a shot if he keeps moving up the ranks. That dude is just as impressive to me as Carwin.

I think Shane Carwin is a worthy opponent for either of them. I think Shane could beat Mir.

You must have missed his Training events and training videos part 1&2, Richard. Otherwise you would not be meatgazing Mir at an amatuer event. You really are out of the loop when it comes to finding out whats going on in the MMA world.

you like that Alistair? Fedor takes out the UFC Champ before the first round's over, then thanks dana on his way out... kinda like that myself.
Regurgo, the self proclaimed joke, you got something right. i didnt see the videos, but i did see frank; he's looks like he's coming to fight. just what were you trying to say?
FuriousCC, i haven't seen him defend on jj enough, but the guy has a good chance angainst anyone in the ufc imo. carwins a stud.

Most of the posts here seem to focus on size and strength while overlooking the fact that Mir, next to Nogueira, is the best jujitsu heavyweight in MMA. Lesnar learned that lesson in their first meeting the hard way. I think Mir learned more from their first meeting than did Lesnar, who is a single dimensional fighter. Mir knows exactly what will be coming from Lesnar, while Lesnar has to guess what will come from Mir. Mir has an entire tool bag of new jujitsu lessons he can and will use to educate Lesnar. Mir will very likely catch Lesnar in something and submit him....again.

I hope Lesnar wins against Mir. Carwin I think can defeat Valasquez, but be on the look out for Dos Santos. They are really the only 3 threats in the Heavey Weight division, especially after Valasquez handled Congo (who I greatly liked).

Carwins good, but i think both Mir and Lesner would beat him.I really dont think Carwin is there yet but could be one day.The heavyweight division is kinda lacking but this fight will be a good one.I think if Mir can stay away from those big hands he will beat Lesner by submission again.Mir is a classy guy and i do hope he wins,if he does i think hell hold the title for awhile. No matter what,im waiting for this one bigtime..

OOOOOHHHHH, I believe you are all overlooking Cain Velazquaz!!! He has more heart than any fighter going!! Just hide and watch. Carwin can go nowhere untill he meets big man Cain.
