Picking through the wreckage of the scrapped Affliction Trilogy card, the Strikeforce MMA promotion has added a very good fight between Gegard Mousasi and Renato "Babalu" Sobral to its August 15 show. Although Mousasi-Sobral was originally slated to be part of the Affliction card, Babalu is actually Strikeforce's light heavyweight champion, so this will now be a title fight.
Currently, Strikeforce has three title fights scheduled for August 15: Babalu-Mousasi, Josh Thompson vs. Gilbert Melendez for the lightweight title, and Gina Carano vs. Cris Cyborg in the main event for the inaugural women's 145-pound title. It's still possible that Strikeforce could add a couple more fights that were dropped from the Affliction show, and put together a card that would rival the two August UFC shows. Adding Babalu vs. Mousasi was an aggressive move by Strikeforce, and one that shows it's serious about giving MMA fans good fights.
Now this is how you make up for losing a couple good fights on your card by adding this great match up. Plus since it's a title fight it'll be 5 rounds instead of three before. Now they just have to get Daley or Hieron to fight Diaz.
now, how about the belfort vs santiago fight as well. and yes get the best ww available for diaz. i really like watching diaz fight. imo he should be considered a top ten p4p guy. and a chance to see the other highly regarded p4p guy, mousasi, because i've never seen any of his fights. let's see if he can live up to all the hype.
Mousasi is such a slick fighter. He proved a lot to me when he went through the dream tournament pretty easily. I thought Jacare might win that fight but Mousasi knocked him out with an up kick.

I wish they would bring in Fedor to fight Werdum.
