Everyone already knows that UFC President Dana White and ex-light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz are back on friendly terms after White flew to Ortiz's house and re-signed him to a lucrative deal.
Ortiz made his first UFC appearance since May 2008 in Philadelphia during UFC 101 last weekend, and the two seemed as close as ever.
How close? You'll have to watch the video to believe it.
Ortiz took the UFC President by surprise when prompted by his videographer, and planted a kiss on him -- on the lips. White was a good sport about it, and laughed it off. Hopefully neither man's wife considers it cheating.
The two have had an on-again, off-again friendship going back to the time White managed Ortiz before taking an ownership role in the UFC. White's butted heads with no fighter more than Ortiz, but it seems like things are going well between the two.
Someone might want to send the link to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), a group to whom White apologized after unleashing an anti-gay slur during an infamous video blog rant earier this year. We're guessing this video goes viral in a hurry.

Although Dana White is an obvious "driven" individual, with a calm, yet fearsome intensity--he may be Zuffa's biggest problem in the future. If he and the UFC ever want to make it big on regular TV (Network TV that is; as in NFL-big); he will either have to step down, or learn how to speak without a f-bomb coming out of his mouth every few lines. That is the one thing about him that seems to be a negative that could hurt everyone from The owners right on down to the least ranked fighter. Spekaing to the publis has to be done professionally and somewhat politically--neither are White's strong suits. This is a relative must on Network TV and talking with large scale print and audio media.
Other than that, White is a very spirited and skilled businessman with a great passion for MMA. I think he might also want to think twice about going too nasty on Strikeforce because that isn't in the best interest for MMA in general. After all, this is what ruined (splintered) boxing. The in-fighting that went on with promotions (agents and various promoters) took its toll on all fighters, agents, and all of those involved (from trainers to "cut-men." There were eventaully too many belts, not enough good fighters for three poorly managed, Don-King servant-companies and not enough foresight (and I place this burden mostly on Don King and his pack of hang-on's) in which to allow for cross-over championship fights. I think that all Fighters need an alternative company in which they (can, in this case, part ways with the UFC if need be and) fight for another company, ala Strikeforce/M-1 Global (or Dream and others oversease. I think there is room for two good companies in this country for MMA. Certainly White has gone out on a limb and said that MMA will be the "biggest sport in the world." That said, there has to be two major companies for one will not have the quantitative or qualitative time to run such a huge conglomeration. It is sort of like the old AFL (American Football League---this is a methaphor for Strikeforce and the NFL--the old way, would be a metaphor for the UFC). They started out small (The American Football Leasgue), but quickly came into their own and a settlement was made (the way I understand) to combine the two, which ended up with what we have today (The NFL as an overseeing body, with the AFC, and NFC as Conferences that werer once individual Leagues onto themselves). This how I see Strikeforce (if they play their cards right) and the UFC. The will probably be one overseeing body (made up of top-level people from both Companies) and two "conferences" if you will. This is why I said what I said at the top of this post.
Just my humble opinion.

"chimpaman" You ever see Don King do that?
They looked like two lesbains. The top of Dana's head looked like a mood ring after Tito got done playing tonsil Hockey with him.Why take Tito back? The guy is washed up. Was it worth $45 dollars to see Forrest get knocked out in 1 round? Would you pay $45 to see Tito? I wouldnt.
Is that why he is back for another lame pay per view. Boxing is holding its own right now. Take a good look at the UFC and analyze how many top notch fighters they have in each division.
The MMA is no better then boxing right now and will not surpass the NFL

Assuming Tito is still with her, basically Dana White just got a taste of every pornstar Jenna Jameson has been with.

you are a certifiable retard if you believe that Tito Ortiz can beat Anderson Silva. Tito Ortiz, IN HIS PRIME, couldn't beat Anderson Silva NOW. Tito is going to lost to Mark Coleman, then whoever else he steps up against (Chuck Lidell, Rashaad Evans, My Grandmother...) Tito is the epitome of "has been." Its over dude....

Beat Anderson Silva? wow you really have to put down the bong and breath once in a while. Your lack of oxygen to the brain is clearly dangerous. either you have had the little kid next door chole you out too many times or have gone the way of Keith Carradine. Please step away from the remote control and put the bag of gummi worms down. you are only going to hurt yourself

They should've told that reporter to take a hike, to go chase himself. Being famous doesn't mean you have to resort to stupid gimmicks that will get the talk show boobs yammering on and on for ages. Absolutely pathetic. Can you say attention whores?

Yawn. The kiss is just media BS and I think Dana got taken by surprise by it. The bigger issue is that the UFC is slipping and losing it's credibility. Re-signing Tito? Why? Brock Lesnar? Sure he's a force, but at least try to act like a mixed martial artist and not a cartoonish goon. If the UFC keeps moving towards attracting the NASCAR and WWE crowds (not that there is anything wrong with those crowds if you accept that it is pure mega-hype entertainment), then the fighting part will be compromised to the point that it is no longer taken as seriously. I'm hoping Dana doesn't wreck this sport chasing the money. But then, that's what happens when anything becomes big business.

lesnar had the skills to take out all the ufc champions, how is that lesnar's fault?
and by the way, if you knew anything about the ground game you'd know how good lesnar is. that you dont see how good he is just goes to show you never spent a day on the mat. man up and spend some time on the mat, then see if you think lesnar doesnt have skills.
couchcritics drive me nuts.
