Josh Koscheck said prior to his fight with Frank Trigg at UFC 103 that he's a younger, stronger, better version of Trigg. He showed Saturday night that it wasn't just talk, beating Trigg by first-round TKO.
Koscheck had no trouble at all whipping Trigg, catching him with a big right hand and then brutalizing him with powerful punches on the ground, forcing the referee to stop the fight early in the first round. Trigg claimed afterward that he could have kept fighting, but he was wrong: The ref made the right decision to stop the fight.
(Interestingly, even Trigg's friend Mark Cuban, who was sitting at Octagonside, seemed to know Trigg couldn't beat Koscheck. Cuban could be seen on TV shaking his head as soon as the first of Koscheck's series of punches connected, as if to say, "Yeah, that's what I figured would happen.")
As for Koscheck, he said after the fight that he felt great, and he said he'd like to fight Matt Hughes next. Koscheck improved his record to 13-4, while Trigg fell to 19-7.

Koscheck's knockout was not simply a display of skill so much as it was and illegal hit to the back of Trigg's head. When Koscheck threw the looping left he caught Trigg behind the right ear, then her hit a dazed Trigg with the right hand. As Trigg was shifting to stand Koscheck again hits him in the back of the head on the brain stem. Koscheck has done this time and time again, though it is a rule but it is seriously overlooked. Every fight I see Kosckeck in he sneaks in a shot to the back of the head and capitalizes on it. Koscheat is more like it.

I completely agree. You would think by now all the refs would be aware of Koshcheat's tactics. Even without the illegal hit, I think he would have won....to bad, I like Trigg.

Koscheck is a punk and so is Dana White. These matches White puts on are like pro WEE. There has to be another promoter somewhere that can take Dana White's place. Then we will have some real fights. Koschech breaks the rules as to hitting the back of the head and he will do it as long as White is the promoter.

Koscheck is a fighter that is in great shape. He was in the cage with someone that should be fighting someone with less talant than he. If striking in the heat of battle is not correct then the referee will stop the fight and take a point away.
If you think the fights are not real then step in the cage.
