In a major blow to the Nov. 21 UFC 106 card in Vegas, the heavyweight championship bout between titleholder Brock Lesnar and challenger Shane Carwin has been scrapped.Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Lesnar withdrew Monday from the main event due to an illness that has sidelined him from training for over three-and-a-half weeks.
"He said he's never been this sick in his life," UFC president Dana White told Yahoo! Sports. "He said it's been going on for a long time and he just hasn't been able to shake it."
An hour after the report was published, Carwin said on his Twitter that his manager is telling him that the fight will be postponed until Jan. 2, which is the UFC 108 date at the MGM Grand.
With less than a month to find a new headliner, the light heavyweight battle between Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz has been shifted to the main event.

I won't be wasting my $54.99 on this garbage. What a joke. I would never pay to watch Ortiz as a main even. The most exciting fight on this card for me is Baroni. I heard his steroid abuse genitically mutated the swine flu virus into something much worse.

I bet Cain is on the phone with Dana right now begging to fight.
He barely broke a sweat vs. Rothwell and he's just begging to prove himself.
Heck, I say if Cain really wants it, then go for it.
Problem then is it leaves no Title fight on the card- which really hurts any UFC night.

I used to be a big fan before tickets went thru the roof, and after this RUA decision. Dana needs to wake up, UFC was on the way to be bigger then Pro-Boxing. Now it's gone back to it's "Circus Days" w/Dana as the head CLOWN......what a joke yea Dana talking to you........!!!

Steroids have nothing to do with this. Lesnar's just afraid to fight Carwin because he finally has to contend with somebody as big & as strong & with a better background. Lesnar's just prolonging the inevitable of losing the belt to Carwin. His fight headlined this card. White should make him fight or give up the belt & let Carwin fight Cain for it. He's going to lose his ass on 106 all because Lesnar has a belly ache.

u rlly think lesnar is afraid of shane carwin??? In his last fight, gonzaga was controlling the fight. Carwin landed one, let me emphasize that, ONE notable strike that whole fight. Lesnar is going to do what Cain did to Rothwell, maul him with his superior wrestling... Kongo, Nogueira, Cain, Couture, and a couple of others of have forgotten all deserve a title shot over Carwin. He's lucky Gabriel got greedy.

if you go to any local gyms in your city you will see a bunch of huge guys in there. if you go to any professional football games you'll also see big people, when lesnar was in camp for the vikings he wasn't the biggest person. so to say the least steroids is not why he is that big. its genetics. carwin is just as big, why isn't there roid talks of him.
