'Big' John McCarthy Talks EA Sports MMA Game, UFC Relationship, More

Last week, EA Sports announced that legendary MMA referee, "Big" John McCarthy, would be featured in their upcoming EA MMA video, which is slated to hit stores in 2010. FanHouse attended the press conference in Hoffman Estates, Ill., to announce McCarthy's involvement in the game (as well as Muhammed Lawal, Jake Shields and Brett Rogers) and details about the game itself.

Below is a video interview with McCarthy talking about being a part of EA MMA, his relationship with UFC president Dana White, and the current state of refereeing and judging in the sport.

Randy Couture to Be Featured in 'EA Sports MMA' Video Game

SAN JOSE, Calif. - EA Sports officially announced Randy Couture's involvement in their upcoming MMA video game, which is tentatively entitled "EA Sports MMA," at a press conference in San Jose on Saturday.

"As we did with "Fight Night Round 4," which I'm sure many of you have already played, where we were able to bring together Muhammad Ali vs. Mike Tyson, this could be the only place where you'll see Randy Couture fight Fedor [Emelianenko]," EA Sports president, Peter Moore, said.

The game is scheduled to be released sometime in 2010.

Ranallo to Announce EA MMA Game

You can add Mauro Ranallo's name to the growing list of MMA personalities who have agreed to be a part of EA Sports' new mixed martial arts video game. FanHouse has learned that the Strikeforce announcer and Fight Network Radio host will be the voice of the game, which is slated to be released in 2010. No word on who will be joining him in the virtual broadcast booth.

Ranallo could not be reached for comment, but he has dropped hints of his involvement in the game on his radio show.
